PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna has filed an application today (20 October 2010) to the Competition and Consumer Protection Office (UOKiK) for a consent to buy from the State Treasury Minister 4,183,285,468 shares in Energa S.A., constituting 84.19 per cent of the company's share capital.
Due to the character and importance of the transaction the details of the application will not be made available to the public until adequate circumstances occur. - We believe that we will be granted the consent for the transaction execution. Our application is compliant with the effective legal regulations. It is based on thorough analyses. We believe that our way of understanding of the integrating power generation market in Europe as well as the relevant development plans of the Group will convince the Competition and Consumer Protection Office. – said Tomasz Zadroga, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
